Care India
Madhya Pradesh (Chattarpur, Tikamgarh & Panna)
March2017-April 2017
The Madhya Pradesh Nutrition Project (MPNP) was implemented by CARE India in three districts of Madhya Pradesh (Chattarpur, Tikamgarh and Panna). The project was aimed at achieving reduction in underweight (severe underweight) and under-nutrition among children and creating awareness on issues associated with malnutrition. It was also aimed to strengthen governance, accountability and mutual responsibility of service providers and communities. The intervention also had a Gender Transformative Component (GTC) focussed on the gender issues & carried out in selected villages of the three project districts.
DevInsights conducted the end line study using the quasi-experimental design to assess the overall achievements of MPNP project objectives and comparing status of the population on certain outcome indicators among the treatment and control villages. In the study, 1800 Household interviews including Anthropometric measurements of children under 5 years, 30 In depth interviews, 16 Dyad interviews with married couples and 13 Focused Group Discussions were conducted across the treatment and control villages.
