Final Evaluation Of The Swallow’s India/Bangladesh Programme (Phase I)
This was the final evaluation of the country programme of Swallows, a non-profit development organisation based out of Lund, Sweden. The programme was implemented from 2014 to 2016, and six implementing partners were carrying out the implementation under different thematic areas.
DevInsights conducted the impact evaluation exercise following the DAC criteria for the evaluation adopting cross-sectional research design, to study the results of the intervention on the final outcomes and to establish conclusions and recommendations for future development of the projects and the overall programme. The study aimed to assess four projects within the Swallows India Programme p focusing on “Dalit Women Rights”, “Forest tribal communities” and “farmer groups” in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. A mixed method design using a combination of quantitative and qualitative tools including participatory methods (PRA) for data collection was utilised. The qualitative assessment included in-depth interviews (IDI) and focus group discussions (FGD) with the beneficiaries as well as other stakeholders like the staff of project implementing organizations and of country programme.
