Baseline Study for Shubh Aarambh Reimagined 3.0’ Programme
Magic Bus India Foundation, in collaboration with Mondelez India, has initiated the ‘Shubh Aarambh Reimagined 3.0’ Programme, aiming to empower 20,000 adolescents over three years in four locations: Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The program utilizes sports as a medium for holistic development, focusing on life skills, sports excellence, gender equality, and the right to play for children.
DevInsights conducted a baseline study to establish a foundation for evaluating the program’s impact and effectiveness. The study followed a cross sectional mixed method research design to understand the then-current situation regarding the empowerment of adolescents, promotion of sports excellence, challenges to gender stereotypes, integration of sports-based life skills in education, and participation in the Fit India movement. The study covered a total of 1440 samples across the four locations, with 360 students from grades 6-8 in each location. In addition to the quantitative surveys, qualitative surveys were also conducted with other stakeholders. These qualitative surveys were conducted to gain in-depth insights into stakeholder perceptions, identify implementation challenges, and assess partnership potential. The findings aimed to provide stakeholders with valuable insights for informed decision-making in the future implementation and development of the Shubh Aarambh initiative.
